  2. Fighting is defined on page 58 of 2012-2013 NCAA Soccer Rules and Interpretations. 12.6 Violations 12.6.1 Fighting. Definition: A fight is defined as a deliberate strike or punch or an attempt to strike or punch another player, official, coach or bench personnel. These acts include, but are not limited to, kicking, head-butting, hair pulling or an open-handed strike if done deliberately and in a malicious manner.

  3. When a fight does break out: • Safety of all players is our number one concern! • Do what you can, short of physical contact, • to separate participants; use closest AR if necessary • Remember that coaches can come off the bench to assist • Identifying players involved may require assistance • Take your time and involve rest of the officiating crew, if necessary

  4. When a fight does break out……(con’t) • Accurately record in your book, time, player(s) ejected • Report to the coaches, scorer and players that an ejection for fighting has been issued • At the conclusion of the game be sure that the official box score indicates the ejection was for fighting

  5. After the game and within 24 hours Electronically complete and file Fight Report form found on the NCAA Central Hub

Summary: • Accuracy is critical • Take your time to get the details right • Use the officiating team to get the details • Record details in your book and confirm with officiating crew • Report to scorekeeper that the ejection was for fighting • Report to coaches and player(s) involved that the ejection was for fighting • Confirm details on the box score before signing • Report details on the NCAA Central Hub within 24 hoursof the conclusion of the game
