  23. School of Medicine Awards CommitteeSummary • A committee of the School of Medicine (Awards Committee) is in place to identify and facilitate the nominations of outstanding faculty for membership in honorific academic societies and for prestigious national and international awards. • Based on a 15-year experience with the Institute of Medicine, an organized approach to nominating faculty for membership appears to be helpful. • Initial experience with other honorific societies and selected major national and international awards is also positive. • Much remains to be done.
