Code Yellow (Shelter in Place) CODE YELLOW –Shelter in Place • Close all windows & doors. • If the air within the shelter appears to be contaminated, inform the office. • Account for all students, report any students that are elsewhere. • E-mail attendance report to Mrs. Mendoza and Mrs. Martinez • Call office(2500) ONLY if EMAIL is not working. • Continue to listen or check email for directions given by the safety team or office. • Do not allow anyone to leave shelter until instructed to do so.

  4. Code Green (School-Wide Lockdown) • Students clear hallway and go to classrooms. • (If student or staff is in Bathroom – remain in bathroom & hide) • Lock all doors, cover windows. • Hallway doors locked. • Remain calm and quiet- away from windows. • DO NOT continue teaching ! • Account for all students, report any students that are elsewhere. • E-mail attendance report to Mrs. Mendoza and Mrs. Martinez. • Call Nurse's office (2504) ONLY if Email is not working. • Continue to listen or check email for directions given by the • safety team or office. • Do not allow anyone to leave until instructed to do so.

  5. Silent Green (Threat in the Area) • Students clear hallway and go to classrooms. • Lock all doors, cover windows. • Hallway doors locked. • Account for all students, report any students that are elsewhere. • E-mail attendance report to Mrs. Mendoza and Mrs. Martinez. • Call office (2500) ONLY if Email is not working. • Continue to teach as normal and stay on normal schedule. • Minimize movement in Main (EAST) Hallway. • Use patio to enter library, use bathrooms in groups with supervision. • Continue to listen or check email for directions given by the safety team or office. • Do not allow anyone to leave your supervision until you have communicated with office.

  6. Code Red – (School Shooting/Drive by Shooting) • Students clear hallway and go to classrooms. • Turn off lights, lock all doors, cover windows. • At recess~ blow whistle three times and students • should run inside. Once inside, students are to go to their classrooms in an orderly fashion. • No one shall move about the school site, inside or outside. • Students should lie on floor and remain quiet. • Account for all students, report any students that are elsewhere. • E-mail attendance report to Mrs. Mendoza and Mrs. Martinez. • Call Nurse's office (2504) ONLY if EMAIL is not working. • Continue to listen or check email for directions given by the • safety team or office. • Do not allow anyone to leave shelter until instructed to do so. Code Red (School Shooting\Drive-By Shooting)

  7. Fire Drill • Evacuate building upon hearing Fire Drill over the intercom. • (Check bathrooms on way out) • Move students to designated area using primary or secondary exit routes • Take your grade book, roster, and drill slips. • Account for all students. • Give Fire Drill Slip to designated Runner. • (North side: Vigil or Arrey; Southside: Mendoza or Martinez) • Runner will inform Office Personnel via Walkie-talkies of missing students. • Continue to listen & follow directions given by the safety team or office. • Do not allow anyone to leave designated area until instructed to do so. • Do not enter building until you hear the “all clear”.

  8. SILENT BLUE- (Bomb Threat) • Sweep and Evacuate room and building (check bathrooms as you walk out). • Communicate with office (IN-PERSON & VERBALLY) ASAP if • something is found during sweep. • No cell, walkie-talkies • Move students to designated area for fire drill then proceed walking the students East towards • apartments, then the walking path, then East to the Park. • Take your grade book/ roster/ drill slips. • Account for all students. • Give Fire Drill Slip to designated Runner. • (North side: Vigil, Arrey; Southside: Mendoza or Martinez) • Runner will give information to Office Personnel verbally. • Continue to listen & follow directions given by the safety team or office. • Do not allow anyone to leave designated area until instructed to do so. • Do not enter building until you hear the “all clear”.
