  2. The Strategy of Jesus • In commemoration of the 12 Tribes, Jesus chooses 12 disciples to train. • Inclusive of all people, Jesus chooses “common people” from every day life. • Individually they are a rag tag; collectively they are a force. • Everyone is important to Jesus.

  3. The Value of the Individual INVITATION to Follow: • Luke 6:12,13 Jesus spends the night in prayer before choosing the 12. • Mark 1:18,20; 2:14 “their immediate response”

  4. The Value of the Individual INSTRUCTIONS for Following: • Receive their appointment: “he appointed twelve” • Presence with Him: • Instructed to be sent out with specific orders “to preach” • Instrumental in peoples lives: “heal sicknesses and cast out demons”

  5. The Value of the Individual INDIVIDUAL Facts: • Called to follow • Called to ministry • Called to martyrdom
