Skills for Market Training for Persons with Disabilities (SMART+) Launched in the year 2013 post the success of our SMART program, the SMART+ is a special program working towards the skill training for Persons with Disabilities. This vocational training program for disabled persons features a uniquely designed curriculum with well-equipped classrooms for them to communicate and learn effectively. This program majorly focuses on the suitable vocational training for persons with disabilities. It is a cross-cutting theme for the SMART program. Besides offering skill training for persons with disabilities, this program also trains youth in basic English and workplace readiness skills enabling them for best suitable employment opportunities. The program enables youth with a diverse range of disabilities – sight impairment, hearing/speech impairment and locomotors disabilities – to receive hands-on training and exposure to the rich curriculum and resources of SMART. At present, the Foundation is running 13 SMART+ centres under this vocational training program for disabled persons across various states in India.
