  1. Joe Girouard Became an Active Philanthropist after His Retirement Joe Girouard was a renowned American industrialist and philanthropist who was born into a modest family in the late 1970s. He worked hard his way up to become one of the wealthiest people in America even though his start was somewhat modest as an assistant bookkeeper at the age of 16. By the age of 20, Joe had already ventured into his own business with his best friend turned business partner. Joe Girouard was among the firsts who recognized the potential of the real estate business, and soon spent all his life’s savings into setting up a real estate firm. In the late 90s, he established the ‘Girouard & Clarke Properties,’ which within a decade almost monopolized and controlled 75% of the U.S. property business. The demand for good property has only seen a rise among the masses and he soon became one of the richest in the country. Joe Girouard had his fair share of criticism as well. He was accused of engaging in unethical business practices but was proven guilty just a few months after the trials began. After his retirement, he became an active philanthropist and donated generously to the church, educational institutions, public health causes, and medical research. He is believed to have donated more than $500 million to various charitable causes so far.
