One of the biggest obstacles we face when growing our business is learning where to focus our efforts – and, of course, what activity we need to limit. We all know endlessly checking our sales dashboards and fiddling around on Twitter is unlikely to lead to more readers or sales… but what about everything else? This worksheet is designed to help you implement the formula introduced in Video 1 of your free training series. If you haven’t watched the video, just click here to go check it out Now, on to business… The 3 Step Formula to grow your audience and business online is: TRAFFIC + CONVERSIONS + ENGAGEMENT = SALES If you have a marketing system that can turn traffic (eg, visitors to your books and websites) into subscribers and fans, then follow up with tons of valuable content to build engagement and lead people towards the sale – you’ll generate more revenue.
Which means, when you analyze your daytoday marketing activities, each task must meet one or more of the following 3 objectives: (1) Drive more traffic to your books or websites (2) Convert more traffic into email addresses (3) Measurably improve engagement with your outbound communications If your time is spent on things that don’t meet any of the 3 objectives above, you can be sure your time would be better spent elsewhere. There’s a great acronym you can use: WIBBOW Which means “Would I Be Better Off Writing”? If your task for the day doesn’t measurably achieve at least one of the 3 obejctives, then… yes. You would. The table below will help you get that focus – so that your precious nonwriting time is spent on activities that will measurably grow your business. Fill in the empty boxes with tasks you complete on a regular basis, then use the column headings to determine whether these tasks are worthwhile, or whether you’d be better off focusing elsewhere. I’ve filled in a few to get your started ☺
