  7. CALLAWAY PLANT • 1 of 19 Ameren-owned power plants • Ameren’s only nuclear plant • MO’s only commercial nuclear plant • Operating since December, 1984 • 40-year operating license • Gross output rated approx. 1,300 MW • Cost to build = $3 billion

CALLAWAY PLANT • Provides 20% of AmerenUE’s generation • 13% of Ameren’s total generation (MO & IL) • Employs approx. 1,000 people (incl. contractors) • 7,200 acre site (900 acre plant site; 6,300 acre Conservation Area) • Generated a total of 199,392,142 megawatt-hours (lifetime generation through 2006) • 4th in U.S. out of 103 plants • 20th in the world out of 445 plants in 30 countries

  10. CALLAWAY PLANT2006 Taxes Paid • $8.9 million - Ameren Paid Property Taxes just in Callaway County • Nearly $6 million went to local schools • $21.7 million - taxes paid to the other 68 counties in AmerenUE’s MO service area based on Callaway Plant’s assessed valuation

  11. CALLAWAY PLANT • Outages conducted every 18 months • Change out 1/2 of nuclear fuel and perform thousands of mtce activities • Refuel 14 set a world record! • Sept. 17 – Nov. 19 = 63.5 days…a World Record for a Steam Generator Replacement Outage! • Refuel 15 completed on May 10…38.2 days
