The University of California-Davis selects W.A.R.N • UC Davis selected Wide Area Rapid Notification (W.A.R.N) for its campus emergency notification needs after reviewing which over a dozen providers. • This vendor will provide a complete notification solution that is fully integrated with current UC Davis databases. • The system will cover multiple communication devices including: phone lines, text messaging, and email. https://www.gobutton.net/secure/warn/coino.htm
Emergency Notification & UCD • After buying the system from WARN, UC Davis created the new UC Davis Emergency Alert System. • This system will inform all staff, faculty, and students in the UC Davis database about “urgent” and “emergency” situations as defined by University policy. http://teaching.ucdavis.edu/poster/Logo.htm

We Now Know… … Students want to be notified in the event of an emergency regardless of where it happens … Students want to be debriefed after an emergency has occurred … Students prefer to be alerted by text message, PA system, or siren … That the most effective way to encourage students to keep their information up to date is through a requirement during registration
