General Station Information • Radio Kerry was established in 1990. The station headquarters are in Tralee, the county town of Kerry, with studios in Killarney and Cahersiveen • Radio Kerry broadcasts on frequencies between 96 and 98FM - throughout the county of Kerry and live on the internet www.radiokerry.ie • Radio Kerry broadcasts 24 hours a day, with a mix of live music and talk programmes between 7 am and 1am daily and music through the night from 1am to 7am. • A typical Radio Kerry listener is aged 25+ and their main information requirements are current affairs, local news, sports news, weather and obituary notices. Their music interests are very varied. For this reason Radio Kerry broadcasts a number of special interest music programmes nightly.
Listenership Survey Results • Every 3 months the MRBI release the results of their ongoing survey of radio listeners • Results of the most recent survey (August 2006 - covering the period June 05 to July 2006) • The adult population of Kerry (ie aged 15+) is 119,000 • Radio Kerry reaches 91,000 (77%) of this available audience weekly • On any given day 52% of these people listen to Radio Kerry • Radio Kerry shares the market with RTE Radio 1 and 2, Lyric FM and Today FM. At 57% Radio Kerry has well over half the available radio listenership market in Kerry. • During the time period of 7am to 7pm weekdays Radio Kerry has an average of 19,486 listeners tuned in every 15 minutes
