  1. Fall Zone – TRTP Project Segment 8A Corridor September 19, 2011

  2. Fall Zone Earthquake-Induced Landslides. The topography along Segment 8A in the Puente and Chino Hills is locally steep and is likely to experience landsliding or slope failures due to earthquakes. Historic earthquake induced ground and slope failures are known to have occurred in the mountains and hills of southern California. Moderate to steep slopes throughout the Puente and Chino Hills could experience slope failures in areas with over-steepened slopes or with bedding planes oriented in the downslope direction. 3.7 GEOLOGY, SOILS, AND PALEONTOLOGY Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project Page 3.7-37 http://www.chinohills.org/archives/48/PR09-132%20CPUC%20Releases%20Final%20EIR%20and%20ALJ%20Releases%20Proposed%20Decision%20for%20TRTP.pdf

  3. Fall Zone Due to the nature and characteristic of the steel poles if it were to fall, the fall zone will likely be within the diameter of the height of the pole. Contrast to a lattice tower, if a lattice tower were to fall it would collapse within itself as oppose to falling within it’s radius. The brief presentation describes the fall zone of the TRTP project within a populated area. Collapse of lattice tower tend to fall within a narrow range. Note how poles fall within their diameter of the height of the pole.
