What is Dewa Approval? Dewa stands for Dubai's Electricity and Water Authority. Electricity and water authorities were working together. But now the water department has been working independently. Dewa was established in 1959 by Sheikh Rasheed Bin Shaeed Al Maktoem, who was the former ruler of Dubai. The main aim of Dewa was to provide adequate amounts of electricity and water to all the people of Dubai. By the end of 2019, they have over 11000 employees with more than 9lakh customers who are using electricity and water. After conventional gas power plants, Dewa have started making current using solar power. They are also planning 250 MW pumped hydro electricity at Hatta. What are the documents required for Dewa? 1. Fill up an Application form. 2. Copy of signed Tenancy Contract. 3. Passport copy with visa page. 4. Proof of ownership. 5. Authorization letter if applicant is absent.
How to Connect to Dewa? To connect to Dewa we should first have some copies of the documents, have a refundable deposit of 110 Dirhams and submit all the documents. After we have payed the deposit and the connection fees, the connection will be active within 24hrs. If we are planning to disconnect Dewa, we can do it in 2 ways. Either by online cancellation or by normal method. Visit their official page. If you are going out of UAE, then you should have a Dewa clearance certificate. For that you should pay all the pending bills and after that they will email the clearance letter.
