Akhenaten • Ruled in the 18th dynasty of the New Kingdom • Changed the Egyptian Religion by choosing to worship only Amun, the Solar God • Due to his religious belief’s, Akhenaten lost egyptian influence in Asia and Nubia. However, his renovation benefitted Egypty intellectually.
The New Kingdom : 18th Dynasty • “Age of Conquest” • GOALS: • Secure borders from enemies • Conquer Syria-Palestine to Nubia territory • Become most powerful nation • Expand nation to the Euphrates River
Life in Ancient Egypt • MAIN GOAL – survive the flash flooding of the Nile River. • Nile harbored a delta that was a branching of the river at the top (Egypt). • The Delta made a significant impact on the survival of the ancient Egyptians. • Gods make the world work in harmony…
