CIMCO DNC-Max v4 - The perfect DNC solution Auto Reveive When the CNC server is receiving a NC program from the CNC, auto receive is used to determine the name of the file, and the directory where the file should be saved. The flexible Auto Receive and configuration allows the operator to access any NC program on the entire network. DNC-Max has long file name support. DNC-Max handles programs from different libieries and sub libieries.

This will allow the CNC operator to verify that the program was received without problems on the DNC server. Receive Reports Failure Failed receive reports are generated if: Auto receive could not determine the filename based on the content of the received program, or the number of transmission errors exceeded the value specified in the Fail on error count.

The Terminal is used for Remote mode in the DNC products to pass the name of a CNC code program as a string of ASCII characters back to the DNC system when requesting or storing a CNC code program. The Terminal is connected serially with DNC-MAX like connecting a CNC-Machine. Some CNC machines do not have a full keyboard. A hand-held terminal allows a CNC machine operator to request a file from the DNC computer while the operator is still at the CNC machine. A hand held terminal can be used for NC program transfers (upload and download, or drip-feeding) for one o more CNC machines.

    12. Supported Machine Controls CIMCO DNC-Max supports special protocols like Heidenhain Fe, 8-bit file formats like Mazak CMT, and the two-frame view of LSV2. Some supported machine controls can access NC files from DNC-Max as though it were a disk drive on the machine. New, network-aware CNC machines may use the protocols FTP or NFS. CIMCO offers connectivity with these protocols, with software that has been developed for use in the CNC machining environment. Most other FTP or NFS packages were developed for general use on the Internet. As an example, Heidenhain chose CIMCO to provide to provide the NFS program for its machines.
