What is Dynamo & top reasons you should be using it.

Dynamo uses its algorithm to create geometry with parametric software like Revit. It is robust manipulation software that can relate to relationships between its own created geometry and Revit. For example, if walls, columns, or structural beams are connected to a specific Dynamo curve, it would completely become a parametric relationship, wherein if changes were made in Dynamo, it would alter the state of the walls, columns, or structural beams. Thus, the possibilities of pairing Revit and Dynamo are limitless.

  1. What is Dynamo & top reasons you should be using it. Ever heard of Dynamo? Dynamo is a powerful Revit extension for visual programming. It is a visual programming language that makes project workflows easier and more efficient. Dynamo performs two principal tasks viz. •Create Geometry with Parametric Conditions •Leverage databases to read and write Dynamo uses its algorithm to create geometry with parametric software like Revit.

  2. Revit uses nodes or wires or visual programming to write and develop programs. Dynamo is used by AEC or Revit professionals to improve project efficiency, and leverage significant benefits across various project disciplines. Some of the basic tasks that can be achieved with Dynamo are listed as – •Automation for team responsibilities or tasks •Generating graphs in real-time •Data Management with Dynamo •Automated element or object placement •Adopting best practices through node sequences •Augmenting graph functionality across various trades or disciplines Dynamo garners a rich set of features when coupled with Revit Create Sheet Creation – build an efficient workflow for your team by using a graph generator with the help of various parameters or values, filter sheets, and create the remaining list a new sheet(s). Place Views on Sheets – create a view list that can be filtered by the project team & create new sheets with a title block, sheet number, and more. Square Footage-to-Family Instance – a graph that uses graphical tools for perusal by the project team for program adjacencies and planning strategies. Create room plans – a graph that can be leveraged by project teams to generate room floor plan views, and even apply a general template. Process Efficient Processing – populate large numbers of data without generating any schedules. Equipment location by space name – deploy this graph to setup equipment location where identifiers are not included in families. Height Adjustment – parametric changes occur when there is a change in the piping distribution system. Reference Plane – this graph sets up a reference plane for various structural members. Visualize Splicing – nodes are used in this graph to – •Set column levels

  3. •Set column offset •Make changes to Revit elements •Set original elevation before splicing Span-to-Depth – this graph is used by QA/QC professionals to make sure all the span-to-depth ratios are in perfect accordance with the structural requirements. Output Export to excel – export data to Excel and manage data output for evaluation Scope Box – this graph is used to identify plans with subsequent sheet numbers, names, & a scope box name in Excel. It is used by AEC professionals to review scope box allocation Parameters – this graph is used to report all instances and parameters of a certain category to Excel files. Workset – this graph provides professionals an opportunity to review model elements. In Summary Dynamo extends Revit and Building Information Modeling with the potential of critical data and coding logic. Modelers can leverage the benefits of Dynamo to generate design workflows through a data-driven algorithm. Teams using Dynamo can improve project efficiency by creating graphs that can are used or functional across various trades or disciplines. Hence, it saves a lot of time and money whilst mitigating repetitive work. Contact Us: - 703-994-4242 Visit us: - https://www.bimengus.com/
