  1. How to Know If You're Ready for Vulnerability Vulnerability is a feeling of being exposed and susceptible to hurt or harm. It's a state of being that most people try to avoid. But what if we could embrace vulnerability? Vulnerability is not weakness; it's a sign of strength. Many successful people have been able to thrive while being vulnerable, including Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres and Tina Fey. To help you learn from their example, here are 15 documentaries about vulnerability: 1. "American Splendor" (2003) In "American Splendor," director Shari Springer Berman explores the life of Harvey Pekar, who was best known for his autobiographical comic book series about his life as a file clerk in Cleveland. In this movie, we see Harvey struggle with chronic illness and the death of his wife Joyce Brabner. While the film doesn't shy away from his struggles with mental illness and depression, it also shows how he eventually overcame them by embracing his vulnerabilities and finding happiness in life — even if it meant getting beaten up by street thugs or having to work two jobs at once just to make ends meet
