Meaning of Dussehra • Dussehra is a major Hindu festival celebrated at the end of Navratri every year. • It is observed on the tenth day in the Hindu calendar month of Ashvin. • Vijayadashami is combination of two words. • Vijaya means Victory & Dashmi means tenth. • Victory of virtues over evils.

  3. Why Dussehra is celebrated • Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is explaining why we celebrate Dussehra? • Ravana kidnapped Sita. To free her; Rama requested Ravana to release her but situation became worse & led to the war. • After performing severe penance for ten thousand years he received a boon from the creator-god Brahma: he could henceforth not be killed by gods, demons, or spirits. • A deadly and fierceful battle takes place between Rama & Ravana in which finally Rama kills Ravana and ends the evil rule. Capture Audience Attention. • Finally Dharma was established on the Earth because of Rama's victory over Ravana. Thus this festival is celebrated reminding the victories of Good over Evil.

How DSS Volunteers celebrated Dussehra • Dussehra means Victory of good over evils and 5 evils are present in human’s life. • They are Ego, Anger, Lust, Greed and Attachment. • A watchful eye, pure soul and conscious effort, is all it takes, to keep them in control. • A man who teaches to control all these evils are Dera SachaSauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. • He truly believes and inspires his disciples, to dig in themselves, look out for their evils, their habits, and drag them out, by keeping a watchful eye and through meditation.
