  2. It is essential for a school to have a counseling program. They provide resources, support, and nurturing to students throughout elementary and secondary school. Elementary school is an essential time for children to develop their social skills outside of the home.   3. PHILOSOPHY It is imperative that all students receive guidance and counseling according to their developmental stage. This process will include counseling services as part of a continuum.   4. OBJECTIVES As a result of this program, children will acquire the skills and attitudes necessary to succeed in elementary school. The emphasis will be on developing decision- making skills, increasing awareness, and exploring career options.
