Next generation solar cells to be free of lead – Dr. Ahmed Al-Jibouri has been following the research closely Researchers have managed to demonstrate that solar cells that are not toxic are actually possible. According to information released by Dr. Ahmed Al-Jibouri who had been following the research closely, the researchers have been able to demonstrate that an alternative solar cell can actually be used to generate solar energy. Ahmed Al-Jibouri noted that the current solar cells use lead. Dr. Ahmed Al-Jibouri further added that the experts revealed that lead is very toxic and has been at the center of various health issues which have affected humans across the globe.
Despite its current usage, the element has been associated with many health concerns. But, the researchers have been able to demonstrate that another element is actually able to work just as well as lead. Information released by Ahmed Al- Jibouri showed that the researchers had demonstrated the reliability of the alternative element. Dr. Ahmed Al-Jibouri further added that the researchers were quick to reveal the name of the element, which is next to lead on the periodic table. According to Ahmed Al-Jibouri, this information was released by University of Cambridge researchers who have relied on both theoretical and experimental methods to justify their claims. Dr. Ahmed Al-Jibouri further stated that the new generation solar cells which are being called “Bismuth-solar energy” cells are capable of converting light into electrical energy at amazing efficiencies of the order 22 %, which are comparable to the most efficient solar cells of today.
