  1. Prepping For Your Presentation By: EdanGelt, MBA, CMD

  2. Plan Ahead • Before creating a presentation, ask yourself these questions: • Who am I presenting to? Clients, business partners, or colleagues? • What is my goal? Do I want to encourage, inspire, or persuade them to take action? • Knowing your audience and your goals will help you craft your content.

  3. Content with a Kick • Gather data and supporting information about your content. • Include visuals to make your message clear. • Consider what your audience needs to remember after you deliver your message. • Remove information that isn’t important or may be confusing. • Add color, pictures, metaphors, examples or whatever it takes to make the content visually appealing and relatable

  4. 10 – 20 – 30 Rule Marketing specialist Guy Kawsaki stated that presentations should be limited to 10 slides, the presentation should last only 20 minutes and the font should be a size 30 to keep audiences engaged! (This is a 30 Font Size)

  5. Wow Your Audience Start by capturing the attention of the audience with an engaging demeanor, stunning visuals and an impactful and informative statement. Think of your PRESENTation like a present – start with fancy packaging and make sure your content backs it up!

  6. Actions Speak Louder than Words Be dynamic, use body language and facial expressions to engross the crowd – show the passion behind the product.

  7. Dress for Success Feeling good will boost your morale so get dressed in gear that makes you feel good but also respectable. Don’t wear something that makes you uncomfortable. If you’re not used to wearing a dress, heals or a tie – don’t.

  8. Knock’m Dead Practice makes permanent. Film yourself, deliver your presentation in a mirror, present it to a friend – make sure you are clear, concise and confident. A strong presentation with interesting content, coupled with an enthusiastic delivery, will keep your audience engaged, ensure an efficient delivery and make your delivery memorable.
