  1. 1/15 Izmir, Turkey 02.09.2023 – 15.10.2023 Picture it - Build Your Future Project within the European Solidarity Corps Katarzyna Marciszewska

  2. 2/15 First few days We started out volunteering journey from quick city tour and a ferry ride. Later we were introduced to the office, the training room and the staff there. After some time, we went altogether to get lunch and then to the Kültürpark to represent our organisation on 92’ Izmir International Fair with the theme of “Youth”. On that day, me and my friend Käthe were working – we were supposed to promote to Turkish youth (together with our Turkish mentors and also, volunteers) our organisation.

  3. 3/15 City tours After some time, our mentors prepared for us city tours! Firstly, we went to Konak, to see the Clock Tower and Konak Mosque.

  4. 4/15 City tours We continued exploring Konak by going to bazar and to taste Turkish coffees and teas, where one of our mentor was reading Turkish coffee grounds from our coffees.

  6. 6/15 City tours As the last place, we went to the Historical Elevator.

  7. 7/15 English Conversation Club for kids After some time, we started with our workshops! Me and other volunteers did the first one of our volunteering group with kids.

  8. 8/15 English Conversation Club for university students *more about that in the next slides* We had a long break between those two workshops, because of the health problems of or group and trip to Afyonkarahisar!

  9. 9/15 Afyonkarahisar The On-Arrival Training! It lasted 3 days when we get a chance to learn more about ESC, volunteering and Turkey! I really liked it. We also had possibility to meet with other volunteers from other parts of Turkey. It was really nice to talk to each other and experience it altogether.

  12. 12/15 Office In the meantime, of everything happening, we were also spending time in office on our own workshops (specified only for our group) or to prepare activities together with other volunteers.

  13. 13/15 Last Day My last working day, I spent in the office with almost everyone. We had the certificate ceremony for me when everyone had a chance to say goodbye to each other.

  14. 14/15 Volunteers It was a really great time, but it wouldn’t happen if it wasn’t for other volunteers! We spent a nice time together and some of us got close. For sure I’m not going to forget about them <3
