Ashtead Neighbourhood Forum 12th Nov What Have We Achieved? • The Plan is legally compliant with EU and UK legislation • We have demonstrated a considerable level of consultation • We are consistent with NPPF guidance • We have addressed the economic, social and environmental issues • The quality of documentation is exemplary • “A plan fit for purpose”

  4. Ashtead Neighbourhood Forum 12th Nov Effect of MVDC Local Plan Revision • Revised Strategic Housing Market Assessment • Larger number of dwellings required • Revised Local Plan for 2018 • Will need to review our plan against this • The mandate for the Forum expires in July 2018!

  5. Ashtead Neighbourhood Forum 12th Nov Why Has the Examiner Made Changes? • To ensure that policies can be applied consistently • To make them more concise • Eg. Avoid repeating existing (MV) policy • To provide flexibility so that local character can be taken into account • Addresses a number of comments received

Ashtead Neighbourhood Forum 12th Nov What Do we Need to Decide Today • Whether the changes fundamentally alter what we had in mind • If we are satisfied we maintain the current timetable • If we are not satisfied we may need to repeat the process from submission, ie March/April • What we cannot do is: • Introduce new aspects • Broaden the scope of policies
