The City Council’s Role We have a statutory duty to support neighbourhood planning: Provision of advice and information, including explanation of existing planning policies; Carrying out of consultations in relation to neighbourhood area and forum applications, and in relation to the neighbourhood plan; Organisation of the neighbourhood plan examination and referendum stages; and Use of the neighbourhood plan when making planning decisions
