ABOUT IIX WHO WE ARE We are the pioneer in impact investing and the global leader in sustainability. We have transformed the financial system so that women, the environment and underserved communities are finally given a value and a voice in the global market. Our mission is to create a billion sustainable livelihoods by 2030. Ban Kee-Moon FOREWORD Durreen Shahnaz Founder and CEO COVID-19 has fundamentally changed the way that we invest and do business. It has also set us back by decades of progress on sustainable development. The question is, are we ready for the new sustainability norm? For IIX, the new norm has been a long time coming. We began to innovate a new approach to finance and development after the 2008 financial crisis, so that we can build an inclusive, resilient future for everyone. The pandemic has revealed just how much more can be done to build a truly inclusive and resilient future that reaches the last mile. COVID-19 will continue to exacerbate inequalities and cause immense stress on our healthcare and financial institutions, affecting the livelihoods of more than 65% of rural underserved communities and over 100 million entrepreneurs just within Asia. The foundation of all our work is the framework Risk-Return-Impact (RRI) - a blueprint for IIX to transform financial markets and create many world-firsts—the world’s first social stock exchange, the first and most successful crowdfunding platform for impact investing (Impact Partners), the first impact investing and gender lens instrument to be listed on a stock exchange (the Women’s Livelihood Bond Series), and more. Yet there are glimmers of hope. We proved this to the world when IIX successfully closed our third Women's Livelihood Bond (WLB3) in December 2020, raised an unprecedented amount of capital for 180,000 underserved women - all during a global pandemic. Our ability to pivot quickly in 2020 through innovation is a true testament to our approach to sustainability. And we have only just begun. In making history, we also proved to the world that women and underserved communities across the Global South, who form the backbone of our families, businesses and countries, can power the engine for recovery if we step up. " The new norm will require everyone to embrace risk, return, and impact, and innovate solutions to Build Back Better. Join us as we build innovative pathways to support one billion livelihoods for women, minorities, and underserved communities by 2030. Women and underserved communities across the Global South form the backbone of our families, businesses and countries, and they can power the engine for recovery if we step up. " 03

RISK OF INNOVATION By addressing the three dimensions of risk, return, and impact, we can ensure that the next five years will drive a new era of growth that outlasts the pandemic. The engine of growth begins with a new approach to impact measurement, and seeing that our most vulnerable communities have a voice in the capital markets. From there, we can accelerate to help businesses pivot and adapt in the new norm by bridging critical knowledge gaps. Read on to learn more about how IIX is embracing the risk of innovation. 06
www.iixvalues.com IIX VALUES INVESTOR PAINPOINTS LAUNCH OF IIX VALUES In September 2020, IIX officially launched IIX Values™ — the world’s first data-driven impact verification solution for every type of organization. Grounded in over 60,000 data points from more than 360 companies working across 46 countries, IIX Values identifies, measures, and verifies the social and environmental value created by every company, while giving customers the power to verify the positive impacts brought about in their lives. 98% OF IMPACT INVESTORS CONDUCT IMPACT ASSESSMENTS HOWEVER, ONLY... 20% Why do we need data-driven impact measurement? Verifying impact remains a challenge for sustainable businesses and investors. Existing ‘verification’ solutions are based on self- reporting, call center survey methods, or a review of investor documentation, which remain blind to the real impact that may or may not be happening on the ground. INCLUDE THE VOICES OF BENEFICIARIES Measuring impact is not new. Listening to women is still radical. IIX Values takes impact assessments to the next level by listening to women and underserved communities. The platform empowers underserved women to verify a company’s impact results—and their feedback directly influences the organization’s impact and risk scores. This gives underserved women’s voices a ‘value’ that carries financial weight in the market. LISTENING TO WOMEN during a pandemic IIX Values™ in Action: The Women’s Livelihood Bond Series In 2020, IIX Values was successfully piloted to assess a portion of the impact created by the Borrowers of the Women’s Livelihood Bond 2. By collecting data from a random sample of 285 women beneficiaries across the portfolio of Borrowers, IIX was able to continue hearing from the voices of underserved women even during the COVID-19 pandemic. This data provides standardized, outcome-based customer impact metrics across an entire portfolio. Each borrower of the WLB2 received an Impact Report, which offers a comprehensive snapshot of the organization’s mission, financial viability, and positive social and environmental impact to evaluate its contribution towards the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. IIX Values uniquely assesses their impact along the metrics of Impact Performance (Organization’s mission, Practices, and Outputs and Outcomes) and Risk Mitigation (Exposure to Harm, and Capacity to cope with crises). In addition to this, the organization’s impact creation is verified through customer feedback surveys regarding the affordability, accessibility, and equity of its services and products. This allows for further validation of the concrete impact generated. KEY RESULTS: Through IIX Values, we are able to assess and quantify the actual impact that the WLB Series has generated, as part of IIX's commitment towards empowering women from emerging markets to build COVID-19 resilient communities. Investors are also able to deepen their understanding of how women impacted through the WLB are serving as solutions to combat the crisis with the support of the WLB Series portfolio companies. 10

RETURN ON SUSTAINABILITY Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, the world was losing out on the gender dividend—a multi-trillion dollar loss to our futures. If we are to achieve more equitable and resilient outcomes, we must put women at the center of COVID recovery efforts—because women are critical solutions to reducing the risk of future crises and building resilience for underserved communities. But money, or the lack of it, continues to stand in the way of progress. Leveraging on our track record in innovative finance, IIX is proud to launch several new instruments to drive women's empowerment as the new engine of growth. Read on to learn about how IIX is making returns for our investors even during the pandemic. 11
INNOVATIVE FINANCE www.iixglobal.com/womens-livelihood-bond-series THE NEXT GREEN BOND MOVEMENT: ORANGE BONDS US$8.5M WOMEN'S LIVELIHOOD BOND 1 THE US$150M WOMENS LIVELIHOOD BOND™ SERIES For the first time in the 300-year history of stock exchanges, we finally have financial instruments that value women. The US$150M Women’s Livelihood Bond (WLB) Series consists of innovative, multi-country and multi-sector debt securities that are creating sustainable livelihoods for over 3 million women across Asia and the Global South. US$12M WOMEN'S LIVELIHOOD BOND 2 IIX successfully closed the third bond in the Series, the US$27.7M WLB 3 in December 2020 – demonstrating how innovative gender lens products can be accelerated even during a global downturn by addressing key elements of risk, return, and impact for investors. The WLB 3 advances 13 out of the 17 UN SDGs and will support 180,000 underserved women across Asia-Pacific to respond, recover, and build resilience in the aftermath of COVID-19. US$27.7M WOMEN'S LIVELIHOOD BOND 3 The WLB3 continues to gather global momentum by bringing together a diverse range of public and private sector partners, including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Shearman & Sterling, Latham & Watkins, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Clifford Chance, ANZ as the lead placement agent, Standard Chartered Bank, DBS Bank, Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G), Global Affairs Canada (GAC), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF). Nuveen returned as an investor for the third issuance, along with several new institutional investors from New Zealand such as Pathfinder. WOMEN’S CATALYST FUND The WLB 3 is also the maiden investment of IIX’s Women’s Catalyst Fund (WCF), which addresses persistent hurdles to the scalability of gender lens investing by providing first-loss capital in the form of subordinated notes – thereby enhancing the liquidity in the market for innovative financial instruments like the WLB Series while increasing the participation of new private investors. Backed by the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF), the WCF is a critical next- generation instrument to power gender lens investing in Asia, Africa and beyond. 12
Building Resilience From the Ground Up KOMIDA Women’s livelihoods are deeply tied to climate issues, and are linked to challenges in access to water and sanitation facilities. Women in rural areas play a critical role in their family and children’s health and wellbeing, as the primary individual responsible for collecting water for their family’s domestic and productive activities. As climate change increases the frequency of draughts, women face increasingly inadequate access to water and have to spend more time travelling to distant water sources, thereby reducing the time available for other domestic and income-generating activities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, these challenges are exacerbated, with 99 million people in Indonesia alone lacking access to basic sanitation facilities. IIX's Women's Livelihood Bond Series is driving capital to women-focused enterprises like Indonesia-based KOMIDA to build more resilient livelihoods and strengthen climate adaptation for women. KOMIDA is supporting underserved women with financial and non-financial assistance in the form of savings, loans, and training, with 100% of beneficiaries being underserved women. With the capital received through the Bond, KOMIDA is impacting 159,000 direct beneficiaries while generating US$4.35 of social value for every US$1 invested. KOMIDA’s impact maps to 7 of the UN SDGs and empowers women to increase their income, build financial resilience through increased savings, and enhance productivity through WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) loans which is particularly critical during COVID-19. 16

Raising Capital During a Pandemic SOLshare SOLshare SOLshare will use the funding from their latest round to grow their business, and directly impact 66,000 beneficiaries and their households, while avoiding 2,200 metric tons of carbon emissions. Throughout the pandemic, COVID-resilient SMEs across the Asia Pacific continued to hold the line of impact to support underserved communities. Despite their critical role in the larger wellbeing and long- term resilience of the community, innovative firms like SOLshare still faced challenges accessing capital. This support is a continuation of our journey with SOLshare since 2013, to provide enterprises with access to capital as they continue to grow. In 2014, IIX worked to help SOLshare receive grant funding from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Bangladesh. Later, IIX Impact Partners and IIX Growth Fund supported the firm with a US$1.66 million Series A round, raising capital for SOLshare to increase access to clean energy for underserved communities. With investor dollars drying up in the aftermath of COVID-19, IIX continued to support SOLshare and other firms with a series of virtual pitches. Most recently, IIX supported SOLshare with a US$1.1 million financing round. 14
