4. DDAR Modernization Exterior Upgrade in accordance with the draft design, main issues:
General:
- Removal of the airinlets in de sidewalls of the upper deck
- Replacement of open windows by closed windows lowerdeck
- Enlarge air grids in the roof above the entrance doors for the air conditioner
5. DDAR Modernization Exterior II HeadDriver’s cabin Bvk’s and mABk’s will be readjusted to suit temporary design (attached visualization/form and diagram are not representative)
Outside doorsUnchanged system and dimensions,Light will be added above or next to every entrance door to signal failures of the door.
Colour scheme- Coaches will be in IC-formula colourscheme for bi-level trains (yellow with blue striping horizontally)
6. DDAR Modernization Interior General- Upgrade suiting contemporary design, main aspects- Glass partition walls and glass partition doors (where possible)- Door between the coaches remains as it is; only new colourscheme- 1 toilet for disabled to be installed per train set - 1 normal toilet in each ABv

7. DDAR Modernization Interior design Interior Design- Transparent and open character of design- Clear, pleasant level of lighting, application dependent on contact- and privacy spaces- Lay-out passenger areas in accordance with requirements of the IC-formula- New luggage racks, tables, new vis-a-vis / coach seats, etc.- Doorknobs will be designed by an artist chosen by NSR- Adjustable individual lighting in first class- New wall and ceiling panelling- Rubber floor covering

8. DDAR Modernization Interior systems Dynamic Travel Information System
- Destination indication outside remains- Preparatory work for Travelling Information System and entertainment system, CCTV and wireless Internet
Ventilation
- All coaches will be provided with air conditioning
9. DDAR Modernization Cabin / Conductor’s room Several minor changes
Colourscheme in accordance with the coloring of the passenger compartments

DDAR Modernization Technic Adjustments / Maintenance- Technical revision (long term overhaul)- Minimalization of additional weight, reduction if possible.- A high level of reliability of changed or new installed systems- No change in total costs for maintenance and cleaning- Lowering of costs is desirable
Power- Energy reduction is desirable- Target: 5%
