U.S. Postal Inspection Service • Oldest Federal Law Enforcement Agency in U.S. • Over 4300 men and women of the Inspection Service are committed to the Safety, Security and Integrity of the U.S. Mail • Protection of 800,000 employees, 38,000 postal facilities and 200 billion pieces of mail each year • During Fiscal Year 2001 Postal Inspectors arrested 11,934 criminal suspects for criminal violations.

MAIL SCREENING WORKING GROUP Mission To create a safe work environment for our employees, to make the mail safe for the American public to gain back their confidence to use the mail, and provide improved investigative tools for law enforcement officials to aid in capturing those involves in using the mail for terrorism.
