Teacher • “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” • Matthew 5:3-10
Savior • “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace that you have been saved.” • Ephesians 2:4-5
King • “After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven…and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it…In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures…Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.” • Revelation 4:1, 2, 6, 8
He lived a perfect, sinless life He loved a world that rejected him He was a wise teacher He performed great miracles What Made Him Great
The Testimony What did Jesus do? Jesus’ teachings began when he was about 30 years of age. He taught, healed the sick, fed the hungry, and even raised the dead. During his short time on earth, he gained a following unparalleled by anyone else on earth. Ironically, his greatest victory came when his own people condemned him and sentenced him to die on the cross.
The Sacrifice Why did he have to die? John 3:16 says that “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him will not perish but will have everlasting life.” Christ lived and died a sinless man. His death was a sacrifice so that the rest of the world may live. This was not the end, however. On Easter Sunday, Christ’s tomb was found to be empty. In the end, he had conquered death and is now alive at the right hand of the father. Of course, Christ will return again to take back the dead in Christ and the living Christians during the rapture. That’s why its important to be saved.
The Plan Everyone is a sinner. You, me, everybody. That’s a bad thing, because the penalty for sin is death. Yep. Death. Now doesn’t that brighten your day? Guess what else? Because Heaven is a perfect place, no sin or anything bad can enter it. To make things worse, there’s nothing that YOU can do to fix things. Not good works, not going on mission trips, not reading your Bible, and not even by following the law. Nothing! Not to worry, though. There is hope. You see, while you can’t save yourself, Christ can and did when he died on the cross. He gave you an all-expenses paid trip into heaven when you die. All you have to do to receive this ticket is to believe that he died on the cross for your sins and to receive him as your personal savior. So which is it? Heaven or Hell? It’s up to you. Realize that this is just a tongue-in-cheek version of the plan of salvation. For a much better version (with really cool pictures!), go to www.thekristo.com . I promise, you’ll like what you see!
