  1. 5 Ways You Can Get Rid of Roof Shingles Have you ever replaced your roof? If not, then it is a very hectic job and to remove the shingles and damaged roof, is a hefty task as well. Here are some tips on how to properly dispose of your roof shingles. 1. Collecting the Mess First When your roof is being torn apart or demolished, make sure you have the materials you need for the proper collection for the shingles. Most of the times, roof companies will set up roofing tarps around the roof, to collect the shingles, afterwards, they can be contained in one place in the tarp, this process is easy and mess free. Also, normal garbage bags are not enough for the shingles, because the shingles are very pointy and strong, you will need heavy duty garbage bags, so that the shingles don’t damage the bags and can be contained in one place. Having a dumpster is also a good idea, so that the shingles can be placed as they are being torn down. You can put the bags of shingles in the dumpster as well. 2. Recycling the Shingles

  2. Once the shingles have been removed from the roof, the next important task is how to dispose of them, or better, recycle them. There are several ways you can do so. First, if your roof shingles are made up of asphalt, then you can take them to specific centers, where they take the shingles, melt them in to a liquid form, and use the liquid in road making. It is also used in making oils, because the shingles contain resin and other polymers, which can be easily recycled. For this purpose, many asphalt recycling centers have been established, so that you can contribute to recycling the resins and asphalt used in making roofs. 3. Donate the Shingles This step is only possible if your shingles are getting replaced, are in a good condition. The shingles can be reused to build roofs for the roofless and homeless people. There are many donations and refugee centers, which take shingles in mint or good condition, and give them forward for building homes and roofs for the needy people. Your shingles will be checked properly first, to make sure that they can be used for making new roofs. 4. Landfill for Disposal This is also a great idea if you want to get rid of the shingles by yourself. You will need a dumpster; in which you will store your shingles. Then, you can take it to a local landfill, where it will be properly disposed. You will have to pay a fee according to the weight of the shingles, and depending how much shingles you have, they might not fit in a dumpster in one go, so you may need to go to the landfill a couple of times.

  3. 5. Junk Removal Service for Easier Disposal Alternatively, you can appoint a construction debris removal service for the safe removal of roof shingles. Make sure you contact the right junk removal or house clean out services company and get a quote. Conclusion Roof shingles are to be properly easily disposed of because they contain resins and other composite ingredients, which are not good for the environment. Happy disposing of!
