CSSTEAP was formally established on 1st November 1995 at New Delhi. • The Centre’s Headquarters are located in Dehradun. • Educational programmes are conducted at campuses in Ahmedabad and Dehradun. • Cooperation Agreement with United Nations was signed in May 1996. • CSSTEAP is administered by a Governing Board consisting of representatives from the 14 member countries of Asia-Pacific region and the United Nations 6

The core educational programme of CSSTEAP consists of M.Tech programmes (9 months PG course plus 1 year research project) in: • Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (RS & GIS) • Satellite Meteorology & Global Climate (SATMET) • Satellite Communications and Global Positioning Systems (SATCOM) • Space and Atmospheric Sciences (Space Science)

In addition to PG/M.Tech. Courses, CSSTEAP also conducts short term courses/ Workshops in areas of RS & GIS, SATCOM, SATMET and Space Science disciplines at regular intervals in all the host institutions.
