Practice • Monday – Friday (see schedule) • Tuesdays & Thursdays (Wednesdays in March) • Study hall 3:10-3:40 • Practice from 3:45-5:30 • Other days 3:15-5:00 • If wrestlers need to go get help from a teacher during study hall or any other day, they can be excused by coaches. • If they need to miss practice due to lots of homework, they will be excused from practice. • However, they are expected to manage their time wisely and not wait until the last minute to get work done.
WINTER CAMP • Monday-Friday January 12-16 • 8:00 – 12:00. • 8-9:15 Room 104 – Study Skills, Nutrition • Fundamentals/practice • Start off with a run – wear running shoes • Go to wrestling room, change into wrestling shoes, practice

Hygiene • Hygiene important • Showers, nails, hair • Long hair, have a cap to wear over it. • MRSA, Staph
Gear • Shorts, shirts, sweats, not p.e. clothes unless clean at practice • Take home daily to wash • No red • Need wrestling shoes $40+, call around • Limited supply for sale $20, with the understanding that when they are outgrown or you quit wrestling, you donate them back to Salida Wrestling • Valley SG, Big 5, Sports Authority, call around • Online wrestlingone.com, amazon.com, • Borrowed, take care • No red
Team gear • Sweatshirts – • in season, worn on match days and Fridays • After season, anytime • Team t-shirts – worn any day • Black t-shirts – practice and matches, not school • Singlets – worn to matches
Buying gear • Sweatshirts - $35 to buy new or replace • Singlets - $75 to replace (don’t dry in dryer, hang dry) • T-shirts - $12 each • Black t-shirts – earned w/fundraiser • Do not have to buy any team gear. We will loan sweatshirts. • Can also earn all for fundraiser.
Drivers • We need drivers, no buses • Fill out form and return tonight or asap • If we don’t have enough drivers, some wrestlers may be left behind. (Never happened, we also drive and don’t leave until all wrestlers have left) • Form for your child to ride with other drivers, drivers take wrestlers home after matches.
Fundraiser • Lift-a-thon • Pledge per pound or flat fee • Bench press 1 time. • Rewards for raising money, most money, and most lifted
Tournaments • Feb 21 – Central Valley Classic – Delhi – everybody – 6am-7pm? • Friday, Feb 27 – Savage Duels- not everyone - 4pm-9pm? • March 14 – El Portal Escalon – Duels (varsity) and individuals (junior varsity) 6am-4pm? • March 21 – Wildcat Classic – everybody – 6am-6pm • Best tournament • Need lots of help • March 28 – Turlock High – everybody – 6am-5pm • April 11 - Girls State – Vallejo - all day.

Evening of Fun • March 6, 5-10pm • Eat junk food, pizza, wrestle, basketball, music, etc. • Permission slip
Last • Parent Guide - New to wrestling. • Please take the booklets and return them when finished. • Questions? Many are answered in the handouts.
