  4. Waiata • Hoea te waka e Hine ma • Hoea te waka e tama ma • Kia kaha • Kia toa • Kia ake ake runga ra

  5. Moeraki Boulders • Cargo was washed ashore. • People drowned. • Survivors swam ashore. • The boulders are a reminder of the final voyage of Araiteuru.

  6. Tupuna • The Captain of Araiteuru was Pakahiwitahi. • His famous wife was called Puketapu. Two famous landscapes remind us of the tupuna.

  7. Te Tangata • Ko Rapuwai, Ko Waitaha, Ko Kati Mamoe, Ko Kai Tahu nga iwi. • Ko Waitaki te Awa • Ko Aoraki te Mauka
