  1. Use IPTG and DTT for Experimental Purposes IPTG | 367-93-1 | Isopropyl-Beta-D-Thiogalactoside |Jiwan is a compound that is used in the procedure of cloning. It is used with bacterial colonies especially Escherichia coli. The compound is used with beta-galactosidase. The compound is used only for research in life science. There is no use of this compound in diagnosis purposes. IPTG is a molecular mimic of lactose metabolite and its presence activates lac operon for gene transcription. The atom of sulfur present in this compound prevents the cells from degrading the inducer.
