The Assault and Its Aftermath: The Fulani Islamists launched their attack under the cover of darkness, targeting the unsuspecting residents of Tilengpat and Butura as they slept in their homes. The loud sound of gunfire shattered the tranquility of the night as the attackers unleashed a wave of terror upon the Christian villages from 9 p.m. on Thursday. Despite the situation’s gravity, security agencies have yet to provide a comprehensive response regarding the incident. However, Samson Zhakom, an army major and spokesperson for Operation Safe Haven, has assured that the matter is under thorough investigation, hinting at the severity of the situation. The Victim’s Legacy: Confirmation of the devastating loss came from Yakubu Ayuba, the Registrar of Plateau State University, who issued a statement expressing profound grief over the untimely demise of a cherished member of their academic community.
