  4. Instant Messaging • Well…instant messaging • Three different options on the table: • Office Communications Server • OpenFire (free, basic) • Wimba (hosted solution) • Presently in proof of concept phase • No current plans for public IM integration

  5. Web Conferencing • Currently a few departmental offerings • Adobe Breeze • Marratech • Board of Regents paying for Wimba • Office Communications Server

  6. Timelines • Exchange 2007 - this Summer • IM - better idea by the end of May • Web Conferencing – Wimba soon • Voicemail - nothing firm…talk to Kathy North

  7. Email Archiving • Symantec Enterprise Vault has been installed, but we’re still working with the vendor to fix problems. • Limited number of licenses • Departments interested in purchasing licenses should contact the UMail team through the help desk. No details are currently available.

  8. PSTs • Email can be archived from Outlook to PST files • Secure your PST files • Storage of PST files on network drives is not supported by Microsoft • Backup your PST files (periodically burn copies to CD)
