  2. It has been speculated for more than 10 years that the electromagnetic radiation emitted from cell phones may damage DNA and cause benign brain tumors

  3. When a cell phone is used the head absorbs 70 to 80 percent of the energy emitted from the antenna

  4. In Maryland a federal appeals court reinstated five class action law suits claiming the cell phone industry has failed to protect consumers from unsafe levels of radiation.

  5. There is concern for children because their skulls are thinner and the growing brain may be more susceptible to radiation. • This research is ongoing and they are not sure of the effects, according to this article it takes 30 to 40 years for brain tumors to develop.
