EVENTS cont. • Presentation – Dr. Theresa Duello, The 'Undecided' Major: Considerations in the Choice of a Major, Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 6:00-7:30 PM, 331 Medical Sciences Center, 1300 University Avenue. Dr. Duello will discuss factors to consider in the choice of a major, myths/misconceptions about how to go about it, and thoughts on connecting course selection, major selection, and career choices. • “Student Org Social at the Kohl”: February 18 at prior to the women’s basketball vs. Ohio State game, we invite the members to free food, entertainment, and a variety of free raffle prizes. CALS Rep – Holly Brown hrbrown2@wisc.edu • CALS Career Services Challenge Feb, 4th-April 19th • Clubs earn points for each member who completes an activity either as an individual (1 point per non-freshman, 2 per freshman) or as a team (7 points total) • Individual activities include: resume reviews, update BuckyNet profile, career fair attendance, subscribe to career services blog, etiquette dinner attendance, CALS career services general workshop attendance • Team activities include: Pre-vet invites CALS Career Services to conduct a workshop for the club, Pre-vet works with CALS Career Services to organize an information session from a company or graduate/professional program, Pre-vet works with CALS Career Services to organize an employer site visit • Points tracked through card swipes or sign-ins at CALS Career Services • Cash Prize!!!!!! $250 or T-shirts!!!!!!! • New Bachelor's or Science Degree in CALS: degree requirements will be taken away and only university and major requirements will have to be fulfilled to graduate, may go into action Fall 2011, specifics will be addressed in meeting
