  2. Unlike people, some animals go through life cycle changes this is called Metamorphosis. • Examples of other animals that change in body form are • Butterflies • Dragonflies • Grasshoppers

  3. Stage 1: Egg • A Female frog lays eggs in water. • A ball of eggs is called a spawn Stage 3 Stage 4

  4. Stage 2 : Tadpole • A legless tadpole hatches from each egg. • Tadpoles have gills and small round bodies with a tail to propel them through the water.

  5. Later in Stage 2 : • A Tadpole Changing to an Adult • A tadpole grows legs, and its tail shortens.

  6. Stage 3 : Tadpole Changing to an Adult • A tadpole grows legs, and its tail shortens. • At this stage the animal is not quite a tadpole and not quite a frog.

  7. Stage 4 : Adult • It is a frog • A tadpole’s tail finally disappears. • A female frog lays eggs to start a new life cycle. Stage 1
