Why US Soccer selected Salvo? • Leadership of the club and quality of the coaching staff • Desire to embrace and promote the core values of the program • U.S. Soccer license levels of coaching staff • Infrastructure of the club and the resources currently being invested in development (facilities, scholarships, staff to player ratio, etc.) • History of player production for youth National Teams, the Women's National Team, and professional leagues • Market with player depth, geographic location, proximity to other elite clubs and travel implications Assertiveness • Teamwork • Leadership • Respect

Standards – Coaching • Must have at least a US Soccer C License • Every coach involved must have a US Soccer License • By 2020-2021 must have a US Soccer Federation B License • 6 month process – 3 meetings with 2 development periods • Required conduct • Behavior and conduct • Will address, will suspend, will expel • Future initiative of US Soccer is for players to play at least 50% of every game – we will try to achieve this • Required number of starts for each player Assertiveness • Teamwork • Leadership • Respect

How will they compare to Navy/Orange? • Fees have not been determined Will I have to buy a new uniform? • Not if you are currently on a Salvo SC team When are the tryouts? • Have not been determined yet but will be in the coming weeks Are they open to players that are not currently with Salvo?  • Yes they are When will registration open for those tryouts? • As soon as try-out dates are confirmed Assertiveness • Teamwork • Leadership • Respect

Questions Are there other ways for my daughter to be seen ahead of tryouts? • We will be scouting games and events in the coming months • We will have a network of scouts helping us identify possible players What if I don’t make the DA team, am I automatically considered for a Navy/Orange team?  • If you are a Salvo player absolutely • If you are from another club’s top team and they have a similar schedule to ours we are going to inform your club we are not taking you on the GDA team so you can have a conversation about your future pathway Assertiveness • Teamwork • Leadership • Respect

Questions Do I have to attend those tryouts? • Yes, more information coming about Salvo SC Player ID process in very early June Does the GDA team replace the Navy team? • No, there will be a Navy team with the same aggressive schedule we had this year Will there still be an Orange team? • Yes If I make the GDA team – can I finish out the rest of the Summer 2019 season with my current club? • Absolutely!!! Questions Can I play HS soccer?  • You can not play High School soccer Can I play other HS sports-hockey/basketball/track? • You may but that will depend on the other sport • The GDA must be your first choice so you and your HS Coach have to be comfortable with this • You can not do Outdoor Track (Cross Country & Spring Track) Assertiveness • Teamwork • Leadership • Respect

Questions Have you offered spots on the DA teams already?  • We have NOT offered any coaching jobs • We have NOT offered any scouting jobs  • We have NOT offered any players a spot What if my daughter is injured during tryouts can she still get a roster spot? • With recommendation from the coach • With recommendation from director • Dependent on player pool Assertiveness • Teamwork • Leadership • Respect

Questions asked at Meeting What level of referees will the DA games have? • They are referees that are on the fast track to do games at the regional level • They are frequently Minnesota’s best It was clear about not participating in other sports, what about other non-athletic extracurricular? • It is important for our players to develop in a holistic manner but you are making a commitment and will have to pick what other activities are selected • If you have overscheduled your child we still expect soccer to come first • High performers are experts at time management and this is a critical skill to develop Assertiveness • Teamwork • Leadership • Respect

Questions asked at Meeting Can my daughter still be a referee while playing on the DA team? • Should be able to but we would ask that you avoid our game weekends to do so What does the coaching staff look like structurally?  • Head Coach • Assistant Coach • GK Coach How will the coach/club help the girls balance academics with soccer?  • When we are on the road we will have time committed to study hall Assertiveness • Teamwork • Leadership • Respect

Questions asked at Meeting How much school will they miss? • Players will miss some school • Once we have our game schedule we will know more Will the player be penalized if they miss practice due to academics? • Players are expected to manage their time so they do not miss soccer for academics • High performers are experts at time management and this is a critical skill in a student athletes development Will there be a designated facility that the teams train out of?  • No Assertiveness • Teamwork • Leadership • Respect

Questions asked at Meeting What are the days that the team will train? • This will be set once we have the game schedule  When are the games? • Weekends What if my daughter wants to do individualized training in addition to her team practices – will that be allowed? • They are allowed but need to fit what we are doing as a team • There will only be small windows for this type of training Assertiveness • Teamwork • Leadership • Respect

Questions asked at Meeting When is the roster set?  • Rosters will be set after player Try-outs What if a player is injured and out for the season, can their spot be given up for another player to move onto the roster?  • There is a mechanism to add players Assertiveness • Teamwork • Leadership • Respect

Questions asked at Meeting How many substitutions can you make? • 14-17 we can make 7 substitutions • 18/19 we can make 5 substitutions • We have 3 moments and half time to make our substitutions Why the differences for when you can sub and the limitations on how many? • The focus is on providing players meaningful playing minutes • It is also in-line with international rules • The focus of the GDA is to Develop World Class Players Assertiveness • Teamwork • Leadership • Respect
