What is the ASLI Program? • Provides professional training and recognition • Designed for anyone whose job duties or professional interest involve surplus lines insurance • Unveiled in 1995 by the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation in concert with The Insurance Institute of America • Designation awarded at the NAPSLO Convention

The ASLI Course of Study • Four courses and national exams • Two courses focusing exclusively on surplus lines: ASLI 161 and ASLI 162 • Two elective courses, one from coverage list & one from operational list. • IIA expanded list of approved electives in 2003.
