1. Narratology Narratology​ - is the study of narrative and its structures, to understand how they affect our perception of story. How does narratology work: 1. state of equilibrium - base 2. disruption - crucial/key moment; moment of change 3. recognition that the disruption - understanding the change(s) 4. Attempt to repair and go back to the original equilibrium 5. the new equilibrium - new base Titanic example: 2 narratives Relationship / The boat Jack w.c. / unsinkable Rose m.c., taken / iceberg Features of good storytelling: 1)lineral, 2)chronological, 3)episodie; other stories which start from the end, have flashbacks or are cyclical. ‘make me care’- ”hook the audience” and force them to care about the characters. ● equilibrium​ -only 25 people remained in the post-apocalyptic world. The main problem - continuing humanity, because of the air polution. ● disruption​ -the last remaining doctor on the Earth invented the medicine which helps to give birth to the healthy children. ● recognition​ -people started to understand that they have a chance in the future humanity. ● repair​ -people trying to get along with taking pills and it starting to become a habitual behavior. ● new equilibrium​ -humanity almost forgot about this story of the past. The population has recovered. the happiest sound in all the world The actions take place in the post-apocalyptic world where there are only 25 people left. The main problem of the ‘New Earth’ is the air pollution. Newborns die as soon as they draw their first breath. People don't know how to continue humanity. The last remaining doctor/scientist starts to work on the new medicine which will help newborns to breath normally so humanity could continue to exist. H​ umanity was on the brink of extinction, when the medicine was done. ​ On the same day the first healthy newborn was born. From this day all women had to take the medicine, so 30 years after people almost forgot about this problem and ​ the population has almost recovered.
