Combined Construction Permit and Operating License • Is the site suitable for the type of reactor proposed? • Can the pre-approved reactor be successfully “married” to the site? • What are the environmental impacts of construction and operation of the reactors at the site? • Will the plant be constructed in accordance with the approved designs as fitted to the specific site?

  4. Sub Issues • Site Suitability – seismology, hydrology, meteorology, geology, emergency planning. • Characteristics of the site that raise safety issues with respect to operation of the plant. • Costs of building on the site, recurring costs after construction, costs to local community.
