3. Background Up until September 2005, the four Associations catering for Children’s and Youth football in Fife had worked independently, and in some cases there was much duplication in the player pathway and administration.
In September 2005 the Four Associations led by Fife Council / SFA Football Development Officer, Gordon Forrest, initiated discussions about working more closely together for the betterment of Children’s and Youth football in Fife, with all Groups following an agreed and defined Player Pathway, which maximises opportunities for everyone in football in Fife to fulfil their potential.
4. Background
In March 2007, the four Associations, Fife Council and the SFA formalised the Group, establishing an agreement for all parties to:-
Work within the agreed Player Pathway from Fun4s, Soccer 7s, Developmental Football and Youth Football
Work together for the benefit of each other
Provide better communication, support and structure to Children’s and Youth Football in Fife
Consider, discuss and action any projects, programmes or initiatives that may positively benefit and influence Children’s and Youth Football in Fife.
5. Background
Whilst each of the four Associations continue to have full responsibility for their own affairs, it is an objective that as a group, the Associations shall have a stronger platform and voice working collectively
All Four Associations and their Member Clubs are properly constituted and affiliated to the Scottish Youth Football Association (SYFA) In addition, all registered Officials of Member Clubs are fully compliant with Disclosure Scotland Regulations
6. Background
Fife leads the way and is the first of the SFA Football Areas to bring together all the various Children’s and Youth Football Associations to participate in organised Children’s and Youth Football in accordance with the recognised Player Pathway, established by the Scottish Football Association.
With the Continued support of Fife Council, the SFA East Region Committee and the Football Development Officers and the enthusiasm, drive and commitment of the Association’s Officials, the Fife Football Partnership goes from strength to strength
