Day 2 Rome • Arrive Rome • Transfer to hotel & drop off luggage (rooms may not be ready until 2:00pm) • Afternoon walking tour with guide • Dinner Included
Days 3 & 4 • Breakfast and Dinner included each day • Walking tours of Rome sights and Vatican included
Day 5 Rome – Pompeii - Sorrento • Breakfast at hotel • Early departure for Pompeii • Guided tour of Pompeii • Continue onto Sorrento this evening for dinner and overnight
Day 6 Sorrento - Florence • Early breakfast • Long day of coach travel • Arrive Florence mid-late afternoon • Dinner included
Day 7 Florence • Breakfast at accommodation • Walking tour of Florence with guide • Afternoon at teacher’s discretion • Dinner at own expense
Day 8 Florence - Monaco • Breakfast and Dinner provided • Coach to Monaco • Arrive late afternoon
Day 9 Monaco • Breakfast at hotel • Walking tour of Monaco with guide • Afternoon at teacher’s discretion • Dinner at own expense
Day 10 Monaco - Montpellier • Breakfast and Dinner included • Arrive Montpellier and meet homestay families (2 per family)
Day 11 – 13 Montpellier • Breakfast Lunch and Dinner provided each day • Excursions to Carcassone, Arles and walking tour of Montpellier
Day 14 Montpellier - Paris • Breakfast with homestay families • TGV to Paris • On arrival travel by metro to accommodation • Afternoon at teacher’s discretion • Dinner included
Day 15 Paris • Breakfast and dinner included • Guided walking tour of Paris • Including Eiffel Tower Climb
Day 16 Paris - Australia • Early breakfast • Transfer to airport • Return flight to Melbourne via Bangkok
Day 17 Arrive Home • Arrival time is subject airline schedules
Passports • Each passenger must have a valid passport. • Passport must not expire within 6 months of the date of return • Photocopy of the details page of each passenger’s passport require as soon as possible • If travelling on anything other than an Australian passport advise the School immediately
Staying in Touch with home • Mobile phones – expensive check with provider re: rates • Phone cards – purchased in Italy to phone back to Australia • Telstra / Optus international homelink account • Email – the cheapest and best way to stay in touch
Tour Cost Inclusions • Return economy airfare with Thai Airways (High Season) • 10 x nights in 2 star hotels in Italy and Paris with breakfast • 4 x nights homestay in Montpellier with full board (approx 2 students per family) • 7 dinners • Travel by Private Coach from Day 5 until Day 10 • Airport transfers in Rome and Paris • Rail (2nd class) between Montpellier and Paris • Half day guided tours in Rome x 2x, Pompeii, Florence, Monaco, Arles, Paris • Full day guided tour at the Vatican City • Full day excursion to Carcassonne during homestay in Montpellier • Half day excursion to Arles during homestay in Montpellier • 2 Day Paris Visite Card (Zones 1-3) • Entrance Fees to: • Capitol, Pantheon, Roman Forum, Colosseum, Sistine Chapel, Academia in Florence, Eiffel Tower
Updated Tour Cost • $4,935 per student. Based on 20 students (in multi share rooms) and 2 staff • PLUS: $602.48 per person prepaid airline airport taxes / levies and surcharges • PLUS: $130 per person for QBE Travel Insurance
Spending money • Students will need to take enough spending money to cover meals not already covered in the itinerary • Best to take money in a couple of different forms – some euro in cash, debit card or travelex cash passport
What Can affect the quoted price • 4 factors can affect the final tour cost • Prepaid Airline airport taxes / levies and surcharges are changing frequently. This component is not fixed until entire Airfare and Tax amount is paid and the group is ticketed by the airline. • Exchange rates – all land costs are calculated in Euro. Exchange rate used in quote 1AUD = 0.58Euros • Tour Numbers • Itinerary changes / availability of airfares
Baggage and Packing • Max check in luggage weight 20kg • Max carry on luggage weight 7 kg • Restrictions to carry on luggage • A lot of public transport – you must be able to MANAGE YOUR OWN BAGS • No porters included in tour cost
What to Do Next • You will receive a letter from Ms Chadderton outlining the next step. • Non – refundable deposit payment of $500 and passport copies due before end of Term 1 • Balance of payment due by end of Term 3 • As we are returning quite close to the Christmas peak it is requested that you advise Ms Chadderton of your intention as soon as possible to allow us to secure air seats.
