  2. http://fullerton.kuder.com The Fullerton College Career Planning System, powered by Kuder, Inc., is an innovative, internet-based system combining research-based interests, skills, values assessments with portfolio development and comprehensive educational and occupational exploration resources. Batch codes are necessary to access to the system, which are available at the Career & Life Planning Center (Rm 2023) or online: MyGateway under Student Links.

Research-Based Assessments • Provide information on discovering one’s interests, skills, and work values and how these characteristics relate to the world of work • Are based on 70 years of valid and reliable research • May be completed in 20 minutes (per assessment) • Can be started and completed at a later time • Feature immediate online results • Available in English or in Spanish • Are accessible with special “Batch Codes” available at the Career & Life Planning Center (Rm 2023) or online: MyGateway

Kuder Career Search with Person Match (Interests Assessment) • Helps students discover career interests, explore occupations beyond job titles, and effectively apply personal interests to career plans • Includes the unique Person Match feature which compares results to a database of approximately 2,000 individuals working in today’s occupations • Offers students 14 career sketches of individuals whose interests most closely matches their own

Kuder Skills Assessment • Provides a highly reliable self-estimate of one’s ability to perform work-related tasks • Offers results that align one’s skills to career clusters, promoting occupation selection with the greatest opportunity for satisfaction and success • Presents results in an easy-to-understand format that allows for self-interpretation and allows for further education and career exploration

Kuder Interests and Skills Composite Report • Is automatically generated after completing the Interest and Skills assessments • Provides an easy-to-understand comparison of one’s interests and skills based on the career clusters • Offers immediate information on consistencies or inconsistencies in the relationship of one’s interests and skills • Includes suggestions about the relationships and how to proceed with education and career exploration and planning

Super’s Work Values Inventory-Revised • Assesses 12 work-related values and reports results immediately in order of individual preference • Provides one with the characteristics or features of occupations and jobs that are most important and are likely to contribute to career satisfaction • Presented in a straightforward and easily interpreted format

Online Career Portfolio The Career Portfolio provides a gateway to lifelong career planning that allows individuals to store personal and academic information, search and save educational and occupational data, use comparison tools, build resumes, learn job interview tips and more for world of work preparation.

  10. Occupational Information Database Once students have completed at least one of the assessments in the FC Career Planning System, they will have access to comprehensive occupational information. Information of each occupation includes a description, job outlook, wages, typical tasks, education/training, and more.

  11. EducationalInformation Database For students interested in transferring to a 4-year college or university, search and comparison features will allow for making solid educational choices. Students will have access to college contact information, campus facts, admission costs, majors/programs, graduations rates, and more.

  12. Resume Builder Students can create and store several web-based resumes in a Career Portfolio. With a click of a button, a resume can be change from a Chronological to a Functional format. Students can send employers a link of their resume along with a cover letter through the program.

  13. Job Interview Planning Students will have step-by-step instructions on what to expect and how to prepare for a job interview. Information includes: Objectives of the Interview, Preparing for an Interview, Common Interview Questions, Stages of the Interview, and Following up after the Interview.

  14. State and Federal Job Banks For those who are currently seeking employment or who will seek employment in the future, students will always have access to state and federal job banks 24 hours a day from any Internet connection.
