  6. 4-Year Colleges and Universities • Students typically: • Earn a bachelor’s degree • Graduate in four years • Five classes per semester • Study a variety of majors • Examples: • GMU • UVA • JMU

  12. Academic Performance • Focus on working hard and earning good grades • Colleges notice changes in academic performance • Grades earned Junior year are extremely important • ASK FOR HELP, not a schedule change!!

What Can I Do Right Now? • Make sure your email is appropriate • Get ready for the PSAT • Register for SAT/ACT • Practice! • Go to the College Fair – actual admissions representatives! • Use Naviance • Search for scholarships • Visit Colleges • See Mrs. Smith in the Career Center • Attend visits from college representatives • Get your list ready • Fill out forms when Ms. Tucker asks you too! • ASK QUESTIONS!!
