  2. W.A.L.T. We are learning how to solve a problem by collecting data and organising it in a way which is easy to read and understand.

  3. What is Data? Data is Information, • It can be in the form of numbers, words, pictures, digits. • It provides us with the facts. • By organising this information in different ways we can make it easier to read and answer questions and solve problems.

  4. Success criteria for Today. By the end of the lesson you will have learnt how to organise data in two different ways, which make the data easy to read and will help you solve problems and answer questions quickly and easily.

  5. How can we collect data? Tally Chart / Frequency Table. Favourite Crisps.

  6. What can we find out?What problems can we solve? ? Most popular least popular ? ? how many people like Who else might collect data?

  7. Your first task. Using the information on the frequency table: Working in pairs, come up with three questions you could ask your partner and get your partner to give you the answers by reading the data.

  8. Favourite Pets.

  10. Your next task. From the animals given, select which animal you like best and draw it on a post it note.
