It also can be the detection of something irregular within an area, which appears “out of place,” or potentially dangerous if not investigated professionally.
A Few Examples: Strange odors coming from a house or building. An unfamiliar vehicle cruising the streets repeatedly.
Someone loitering around schools, parks or secluded areas.
Someone exhibiting unusual interest in building security, dams, water-treatment plants, or law-enforcement procedures.
Someone wearing non-typical layers of clothing or appearing to be hiding objects within clothing. Vehicles parked at peculiar sites at unusual hours or for extended periods.
