  1. Start-Up Energy Transition releases the 6th SET100 list The 6th SET100 list is out and has selected some of the most innovative startups from around the globe. The SET100 list is an annual collection of the top 100 energy transition start-ups published by Start-Up Energy Transition, a global innovation platform supporting innovation in the sector. The list showcases the most ambitious innovators who are reshaping the sector and defining the global energy future. It was initially published in 2017 with the goal of providing a forum for new firms to promote their innovative ideas. It is a comprehensive collection of firms that are geographically diverse and represent all segments of the clean energy industry. Startups from 5 different categories are featured in the list, namely: Clean Energy Generation, Demand-side Innovation, Energy Distribution & Storage, Smart Mobility & Transportation and Quality Energy Access. This year’s SET100 list includes companies from 31 different nations, including Canada, Colombia, Estonia, the Netherlands, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and Zimbabwe. SET100 includes companies from various sectors that have contributed to a smart and innovative society. Companies that make up this year’s list include UK’s Energy Shift,

  2. the German cloud platform provider Aedifion GmbH and companies that offer asset monitoring solutions such as the Netherlands Withthegrid and Germany’s Flynex and Argentina’s Box Synergy which produces solar energy products. In addition to providing exposure to these companies, the list gives them a platform to showcase their creations and innovations, which can help them raise funds to further their growth. Many companies like Withthegrid and Skynex have received investments in the last few years and securing a place on the SET100 will signal an even greater commitment to developing their technology and ensuring market expansion. Last year, Withthegrid received funding of €1 million from the Regional Development Agency (ROM Utrecht Region) and Boundary Holding, a European investment firm headed up by Rajat Khare. “Despite the challenges that we face today, the global energy start-up ecosystem has continued to prove resilient and produce solutions. We have seen the immense power that innovation and thinking outside-the-box has had, namely during the current times of environmental, diplomatic and economic uncertainty” said Andreas Kuhlmann, Chief Executive German Energy Agency.
