Indicator for MICS3 Indicator: Percentage of children 5-14 years of age involved in child labour activities • Numerator: • Ages 5-11 • at least one hour of economic activity or • at least 28 hours of household chores per week • Ages 12-14 • at least 14 hours of economic activity or • at least 28 hours of household chores per week • Economic activity of children is defined as any paid or unpaid work for someone who is not a member of the household, or other family work • Denominator: All children 5-14 years of age
Indicator used in MICS2 Indicator: Percentage of children 5-14 years of age who are currently working • Numerator: Children 5-14 years of age who have done any paid or unpaid work for someone who is not a member of the household or, in the last week, who did 4 or more hours per day of housekeeping chores in the household, or did other family work • Denominator: All children 5-14 years of age
