  2. ABOUT TURKCELL Turkcell started business in Turkey as first phone operator in 1994. Right now Turkcell holds more than half of the Turkey’s market share in phone operations. Thanks to their big market value, Turkcell is sponsoring a lot of foundations, festivals, events and sports teams such as local football teams and national basketball and football teams as «Official Communication Sponsor»

  3. ENSAR FOUNDATION Ensar Foundation is one of the many foundations that sponsored by Turkcell. About three months ago one of Ensar Foundation’s teachers is charged and arrested for harassing 45 children in one of the many «study houses» of Ensar Foundation’s in Karaman. While Turkcell also supporting many other educational foundations which are not neccessarily corrupted as Ensar Foundation, costumers wanted them to stop supporting Ensar Foundation.

SOCIAL MEDIA REACTIONS AND TURKCELL’S RESPONSE After accusations against Ensar Foundation goes public it set off social media reactions such as «StopChildRapeInTurkey» hashtag and hashtag became worldwide trend topic. As naturally protestors wanted Ensar Foundation to closed and companies who supports Ensar like Turkcell to abolish their sponsorships. But as Ensar Foundation is involved with numerous goverment ministers just like Turkcell is, Turkcell didn’t care about the reactions and publicly stated that they will continiue to support Ensar Foundation.

SOCIAL MEDIA REACTIONS AND TURKCELL’S RESPONSE Turkcell stated very clearly that they will support Ensar Foundation no matter what with cliche public statements such as «We are not supporting foundations, we are supporting education.» and «We will follow the case till the responsibles are punished.» While they claim that they will go after the responsibles, Criminal Judicatory of Peace blocked almost 100 tweets which criticise Turkcell’s support of Ensar by Turkcell’s «special request».
